Brian Kahle launches radio show!
April 1, 2004
It certainly won't be his first talk show. Brian
Kahle was, in fact, the founding co-host of Channel
7's AM Buffalo, when it first went on the air back
in 1978. But, his newest broadcast endeavor has him
returning to radio. as the host of Kahl & Company on
WHLD-AM 1270.
Radio is actually where he began his broadcast
career, back in 1968,,, at WKSN Radio in Jamestown,
NY. From there, it was on to television news
positions in Binghamton and Rochester, NY. Toledo,
Ohio. and Los Angeles, California. Kahle returned to
his native Western New York in 1978, where he hosted
AM Buffalo for 18 years and then spent another four
as a news anchor/reporter.
He is currently the founder and president of
Magic Marketing, a publicity and public relations
firm, based in Wilson, NY. In that capacity, Kahle
offers a variety of publicity and promotional
products and services, including media kits,
full-service public relations, video production, web
site design, and spokesperson training.
Last year, he co-founded Discover NY West, an
eight county tourism campaign, which includes a web
site and travel column he writes for several area
newspapers and magazines. Discover NY West will also
be a regular feature of Kahle & Company.
Kahle & Company goes on the air Tuesday, April
6th and can be heard weekly from noon to 1 pm. Owned
by Citadel Communications, WHLD-AM 1270 has been on
the air in Western New York since 1940, when it
initially broadcasted from the former Hotel N iagara.
Today it is located at 225 Delaware Avenue in
downtown Buffalo.

RANSOMVILLE
SPEEDWAY DROPS THE GREEN ON APRIL 30TH
April 15, 2004
Ransomville
Speedway is set to drop the green flag on Friday,
April 30th for their 47th season opener.
The big R will
once again feature a four star program including the
Mighty Taco Modifieds, Original Pizza Logs
Sportsman, Bobcat of Buffalo ProStocks, and
Previty's Motor Cars Streetstocks. Special
appearances by the Patriot Sprints, CanAm Super
Stock Series, and the Micro-Sprints highlight this
years schedule.
Leading the way
aboard the Mighty Taco Modifieds will be defending
champion Danny Johnson. Johnson has aligned himself
this season with Maroney Racing of St. Catharines,
Ontario for weekly Friday night stints along with
the entire 358 modified Super DIRT Series. Mr.
Smallblock-Pete Bicknell-fell short by just a few
markers in 2003 but hopes to leave the 2004 season
with the championship trophy. Weekly additions of
Todd Burley, Gil Tegg, and Ron White ensure this
years modified field to be one of the best ever.
The defending
Original Pizza Logs Sportsman champ Scott George is
poised for another championship run. George could
have very well been the champ in 2002 as well as he
missed the title by one point. George will find
stiff competition in Scott Kerwin who is debuting a
new Mark Cerrone/Good Guys Transmission entry. Jeff
McGinnis, Dave Just, Kevin Wills, and a host of
others will all be looking to de-thrown George.
Over twenty
drivers have registered for weekly competition in
the Bobcat of Buffalo ProStocks ranks including
series regulars Dave Schulz and Pete Stefanski.
These two put on a great points battle in 2003 with
much of the same expected in 2004. Ransomville was
one of the few places to average eighteen entries on
a weekly basis and early indications are a big field
once again this season. The Williams boys-Dave and
Mike-along with many more are set to take the green
on April 30th.
The Previty's
Motor Cars Streetstock division is certain to see a
new champion in 2004 as past champions Alex Morris
(2003 & 2001) and Don Barnes (2002) have reported
they will not be in competition in 2004. This opens
the door in a very competitive division with many
different faces expected to visit victory lane
through the course of the season.
Gates will open
at 5 pm in the pit area and 6 pm in the grandstand
with racing slated to begin at 7:15. Additional
information can be obtained by calling 716-791-3602
or by logging onto www.ransomvillespeedway.com.

Again
Herd Defeats Zephyrs, 12-2
April 1, 2004

offense didn’t slow Thursday afternoon as the Herd
defeated the New Orleans Zephyrs (Houston Astros)
12-2, from Winter Haven, FL. Buffalo is now 8-2-1 on
the spring, outscoring their opponents by a combined
79-37 while hitting .326 as a team.

4-4 with a home run and 3 RBI. First baseman Eric
Crozier collected yet another hit to push his
hitting streak to ten games. Outfielder Mark Little
went 2-4 with a triple and 2 RBI; he now has a
nine-game hitting streak. With their 16 hits today,
Buffalo has posted double-digit hit totals in eight
of their 11 games.
Robert Ellis
(1-0) got the start and gave up just one run over
5.0 innings to get the win. Cliff Bartosh threw 2.0
shutout innings in relief.
